Safe DIY
Want to know how to DIY safely? I got you covered (literally, ha).
Most importantly:
- Test for lead paint!
- NEVER EVER use a heat gun on lead paint!
- Don’t dry sand or scrape either.
- Keep everything wet, treat it like asbestos.

The instructor teaches the Master Painters course on lead paint for professionals and is the foremost expert on this in New Zealand. USA RRP Content
The US Renovation & Repair Program is mandated training for American tradespeople who will be encountering lead paint. Most of the course is offered online. This is a great way to learn.
Lead Aware NZ recommends “Lead Edu” as a great provider for this training.
